Congressional Debate About To Begin
The congressional debate on the "save Terri" law is about to begin -- 6PT - 9ET for three hours to conclude with the vote in the house at 12:01AM Monday Washington time.
I have contemplated "live" blogging the debate, but I not sure that I can take watching people argue about separation of powers when a woman's life is at stake. I said yesterday that the only news I was really interested in was the news that the feeding tube was reinserted and she was beind fed -- everything is just ugly.
For the record, this probabaly is not the best law ever passed by the Congress. But after years of having absolutely awful judicial decisions shoved down my throat, and law after law passed that could not possibly be any more constitutionally valid than this one (Consider, for example laws that permit the taking of real property for the presumed sake of an insect species) I don't care.
It's time for the other side to live with some stuff they don't like. At least we're doing it for a human life.
