I Am Compelled
Bob Kravitz of the Indianapolis Star has made a living out of saying things virtually no one agrees with, so they can all yell at the paper every morning. This generally means that he is not worth arguing over. However, I am compelled to comment on this morning's piece.
He is defending Mike Davis again. What is sad is that he may be right. Ten conference wins after the worst season in nearly 30 years may be sufficient to save the man's job. Indiana University is rapidly establishing a reputation for mediocrity in all things. You would thin in a state as basketball mad as Indiana, that one thing would still be able to hold its head up. Apparently not -- they throw out the coach that promotes excellence and hire one that is satisfied with ten conference wins.
Sad, really sad.
