The Mind Boggles
That Jimmy Carter has proclaimed brotherhood and fidelity with despots and other undesirables, is old news by now.
I did; however, think that Bill Clinton, the only other Democrat President of that last 30 years had a little more common sense than that. Oh, don't get me wrong, Clinton was a lying philanderer with numerous bad policy ideas, but I always thought he had enough sense not to buddy up to murdering despots and tyrants.
Well, according to Powerline, I was wrong in that assessment.
Character and a moral compass matter, these guys are evidence. Just because Christians do not believe that behavior brings salvation does not mean we should not have a code of ethics. Carter in particular is a classic example of how a lack of well formed Christian ethics can lead a confessing Christian into seriously dangerous territory.
