Terri Has Life and Breath

As I said yesterday, over the weekend, there is not much news about Terri Schiavo. That does not; however, mean that we should cease our efforts at prayer. And you can still go to Terri's Fight and donate. See the graphic in the blogroll.

As I reflect and pray about Terri, one thing rings through my mind over an over. Terri is not a symbol. It is true that however this ends up, it will have grave ramifications for our cultural and legal systems, but that is the by-product, and should not be the reason we are engaged.

When Paul preached in Athens he said:
Acts 17:24-25 - 24 "The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; 25 neither is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all life and breath and all things;...
I take two things away from this. Firstly, God is in charge, As much as I care about this issue, He is the one that will bring about results, not me. He will work regardless of what I or anybody else does. I must take solace in that.

Secondly, Terri is God's creature. She has life and breath. I want to thank God for Terri today. Not because of what she represents, but because she is God's creature, bestowed with life by the Almighty.
