- Back in the '70's some dern-fool idiots wanted to tow icebergs to Saudi Arabia (subscription required for all but the first paragraph of the article) to supply water. Now some "performance artist" wants to tow one from Norway to Belfast to heal the sectarian divisions that have scarred the city. Forget the incredible cost for a minute and ask yourself, "What's the 'berg going to do? Walk down the street and counsel people?"
- Then there is this piece from today's NYTimes. I was almost 40 when I got married, that means a lot of lonely years, but I would still find the idea of a "virtual" girlfriend ludicrous. Sheesh.
