Now, More Than Ever, Support Our Troops
From Weekend Pundit comes a sotry about a story about a Guardsman in Iraq who has lost his job during deployment. (HT: Blackfive) The way this situation was handled by his employer makes a bad and awkward situation downright heinous. As our military transitions, relying more and more on reservists and guardspeople, we need to so something to provide for their well-being. It is understandable that employers cannot hold jobs forever, but it is reprehensible if this nation leaves its finest in a lurch after defending our freedoms.
I don't know how to help this guy specifically, but I do know how to help soldiers in general. Go to Soldier's Angels and adopt a soldier, now. Better, read this story from Assumption of Command, then go to Any Soldier, find a soldier you like, and send him/her some batteries.
