Palm Sunday! - A Less Than Wonderful Weekend?

Holy week begins this weekend, this should be a happy time. Freedom is breaking out in the Middle East like acne on a 14-year-old, this should be a happy time. So why does my news reading lead me to stuff like this. All over the world war protesters are marking the second anniversary of the beginning of the latest Iraqi war, in a less than honorable fashion.

The hit parade starts with this little goodie from Michelle Malkin. This is actually from last Thursday. High school kids getting ugly as only high school kids can.

Blackfive and Citizen Smash and Assumptions of Command all tell us about what has been happening in San Diego and environs over the weekend. Smash is organizing a counter protest, which is great if you are in San Diego. For the rest of us, Blackfive has a great piece on charities to which one can contribute to honor the injured and dead.

The dishonor of our fighting men and women is amazing and awful. I realize these are mostly children, but for those of us that lived through Vietnam, even on the home front, it should be obvious that it was this kind of garbage that hurt us in that conflict. Do they fail to see that the Baathist strategy in Iraq was based almost entirely on the expectation of this kind of reaction?

God bless our fighting men and women and God bless the milblogs that are doing such fine work and supporting them.
