This Has Been Festering A While
The Chinese are protesting, rather violently, the attempts by Japan to get a permanent seat on the UN Security Council. While I have no love for the repressive Chinese government, I have to side with them on this one. The Japanese invaded China rather rudely in WWII and have never apologized for the atrocities that they visited on the Chinese people. Those atrocities are not at all dissimilar to what the Nazis did to the Jews. If Japan wishes to take a place at the very head of the world, they need to come to terms with the horrors of their past...
