When Bullying...
...it pays to know who has the back of your intended victim.
Russia was forced to all but abandon a gas blockade against neighboring Ukraine on Monday after European trade partners said their own supplies had been hit and warned Moscow relations would suffer.I am not sure what game Putin was up to, but given how little practice the Russians have at this whole capitalism thing it is quite possible this was all a "purely commerical" matter. If not, Putin grossly miscalculated.
