What happens when you cross playboy magazine with old school female wrestlers? Big Barda, that's what. as we continue our walk through the pinnacles of Jack Kirby's creative abilities - Asgard and The New Gods, we turn today to the New Gods character Big Barda. Barda can only be described as the most bad-ass woman ever, anywhere. Hulk levels of power, and all the looks of Power Girl. However, she makes Power girl look like she has a good attitude.Interestingly, Barda is the wife of Scott Free, Mister Miracle, who though a New God, relies on his skills as an escape artist. More on Scott later. Anyway, even as a young man I had no clue about what attracted Free to Barda. It would be like mating with a gorilla, and yet...
Anyway, comics are nothing if not fun and Barda is fun.
