Who Are You Praying For?
The BBC recently ran an interesting article about this site. As the Beeb describes it:
As I read through the site and the prayer requests there, the picture I get is one of many lonely people reaching out on any number of levels. How wonderful it would be if it were a local church were to use this as a gateway to actually meet and directly minister to these individuals. Just for once I would like to see the web used to overcome anonymity, not enhance it.
Which brings me to the second point - who is there around you that you could be reaching out to with the simple question, "What can I pray about for you?" How much better it would be if that person reached out to you instead of a web site.

You can do lots of things online these days: socialising, networking, shopping. But praying? Yes, that too.I react to this on a whole lot of levels from "How wonderful that someone has this ministry" to "How pathetic that the local church is not filling this need."
On a rainy morning in New York City, volunteers get together to work on PrayAbout.com.
The website is based on a simple premise: people submit their requests for prayers, and others pray for them - an act known as intercessory prayer.
